This 13" x 16" presentation set was originally published in 1964 to provide a history of Old Montreal that was rapidly being lost. This 1965 reprinted set and contains 10 lithographs of sketches made by architect R.D. Wilson and a short explanation pamphlet of what each is. Also included is a late 1700s map of Old Montreal. The lithos and pamphlet come in a cloth-covered board slipcase. Canadian history with beautiful illustrations. The illustrations could be individually framed and hung as an art series. It is in both English and in French. Very good vintage condition - see photos.

Typography and layout by Robert R. Reid of McGill University Press. The drawings were reproduced at the workshops of Hélio Gravure Inc., Montreal, on Acuarela-shaped paper from L. Guarro, Barcelona. The commentary was printed on Super Alfa Guarro at the Redpath Press, in Bembo "Monotype" characters. The map on the following page was lithographed at the Ateliers des Sourds-Muets, Montreal, and the illustrations that accompany the commentary were printed by Hélio Gravure Inc. The maps of Montreal, dating from 1760 and 1851, are part of Lawrence Lande's collection. Published by McGill University Press: 3000 copies were printed.
