Mervyn Scoble is an artist who was born and received his formal art training in England. In 1971 he moved to Canada and became an art teacher at both Secondary and Tertiary Levels while also working on his pieces inspired by collective media and Canadian culture. His work and concepts are expressed through a variety of mediums, which he sometimes combines together, like painting, printmaking, photography, woodcarving, and sculpture. Scoble's pieces are storytellers of his surroundings marked by nostalgia and a mastered technique which makes him one of the most selling representatives of Canadian art today. For one of his recently completed series of paintings, Scoble portrayed two of the Toronto Maple Leaf stars in an exciting scene on the ice.
