"Art is an expression of what a person feels about the whole world and the position of that person in the world. It is a type of self-commentary. My painting is non-figurative, abstract, maybe it's lyrical-all this terminology is not important; what is important is the actual painting." 

Rita Letendre was born in 1929 in Drummondville, Quebec. She studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montreal before becoming a student of Paul-Emile Borduas, She has since lived in Europe, California, and in New York; she moved to Toronto in 1969.

Featuring an artwork originally crafted by Rita Letendre in 1978 titled "Unga" with copyright held by Riat Letendre.
