Aurora by Ricardo Calero.
Ricardo Calero (Villanueva del Arzobispo, Jaén, Spain, 1955) got in touch with Zaragoza’s artistic movement very young while he was studying at different art academies in the city. His work was exhibited firstly in 1976 in Pamplona and Logroño (Spain).
Between 1980 and 1986 he worked as a teacher, at the same time he led the Art School of Ejea de Los Caballeros (Zaragoza, Spain), and also he was a teacher at the Center for Teachers Education and the Institute of Educational Sciences of Zaragoza (Spain). His first creative stage is characterized by his awareness of the social aspect of art, which it ends with “Acciones de Luna” in December of 1986. Since 1987 we appreciate a genuine creative explosion when Calero takes part in different exhibitions around the world in France, Germany, USA, Switzerland, and Canada.
Calero's creative proposal is characterized by double meanings related to terminology, combining the etymology of “disparo” and “disparate” ("shot" and "nonsense"), always worried about reflexivity, life, the material, and, especially, the role of the immaterial which composes the reality.
