Tony Allison, is an etching artist and Canadian painter, born in 1946 in Manitoba, Canada, as were also Edwin Holgate and David Milne.
He influenced and helped his godfather, who became the artist Maka, to paint.
When Maka started painting, at the age of 68, Allison encouraged him and provided him with art materials every time he visited.
Today, he lives and continues to paint in his hometown, of Flin Flon in Manitoba. As an independent artist he has had numerous personal exhibitions and commissions in Canada and the United States, especially between 1969 and 1978.
In group he participated in the Sir John Cass London Spring Exhibition, in 1967, the Palme Competition of the Golden Monte Carlo in Monaco, 1973, the Banff Festival of the Arts also in 1973, among others. Now, his paintings are part of permanent collections like the Government and the University of Manitoba and the Clement Greenberg Collection in New York.
