**John Kenneth Esler**
John Kenneth Esler (1933-1991), born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, is a graphic artist and pioneer in the Canadian etching industry, as was Roman Cieslewicz and Richard Lacroix.
He studied at the University of Manitoba School of Art and graduated in 1960. He then studied at the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Education and received two degrees from the University of Manitoba. he applied both in his career.
From 1964 to 1980 he was an engraving teacher at the University of Calgary, as before, artist John Will, where he spent much of his artistic career.
He has been an influential figure in the arts community in Alberta and Manitoba, not only for his creative and innovative printing methods, but also for his involvement in professional organizations.
