John Kenneth Esler, born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, in 1933, is a graphic artist and a pioneer in the Canadian printmaking industry. He received two degrees from the University of Manitoba, one in the Fine Arts and the other in Education; he applied both in his career. From 1976 to 1978, he was the head of the Print and Drawing Council of Canada and an important member of the artistic community of Alberta and Manitoba, not only for his creative and new methods of printing but also for his involvement in professional organizations, both as an exhibitor and jury member.
