Brigitte Coudrain, born in 1934, is a French artist who was initiated into an etching by Johnny Friedlander in Paris. Very talented in watercolors and printing techniques, at the age of 25, she already participates in the Biennale de Grennchen (Suisse), Ljubljana (Yugoslavia), and the Salon the Mai (Paris), events where the most known etchers of the time were celebrated. In 1959, she wins a prize in the First Biennale de Paris, and in 1974 a prize from the Jury in the Exposition Internationale de Mulhouse. It is easy to say that Coudrain’s art captivated a big international audience with her cubism-inspired still-life in sepia colors and nowadays her work is part of many permanent collections in Berlin, Jerusalem, Brussels, Strasbourg, New York, and Paris. Like the first tries of cubism in the early 20th century, Coudrain was interested in the abstraction of nature and its composition in space.
